Set in the heart of the French Quarter, the 2025 renovation of the Omni Royal Orleans was designed by FAROUKI FAROUKI to thoughtfully upgrade the hotel’s public and private spaces across multiple floors. We worked closely with the project team on final technical design, interior 3D scanning, shop drawings, and project management for the millwork and decorative metalwork scope of work throughout. This was a natural fit for the construction technology we build into our workflow on more complex jobs, providing the general contractor, the millwork subcontractor, and other trades the opportunity to coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and wood blocking before these spaces were finished out.

01 — Planning

The project had already been through several preconstruction and pricing efforts before moving forward. We worked closely with FAROUKI FAROUKI throughout that process to ensure the original design intent carried through every iteration, from the lobby bar’s curved arch backdrop and baffle ceiling to the music lounge stage and service station millwork. Once construction had the green light, we assisted the millwork subcontractor by using our digital workflow and coordinating the challenges unique to a historic renovation.

02 — Design

Once construction had the green light, we assisted the millwork subcontractor by using our digital workflow and coordinating the challenges unique to a historic renovation. We completed a full interior 3D scan of the existing space, importing the resulting point cloud into our millwork’s digital models to verify these components directly against existing conditions before beginning fabrication. We then used augmented reality to superimpose those same digital models onto live photos of the gutted interior — letting our client, the general contractor, and other trades identify and resolve clashes on screen weeks before the space was closed in.

Technical Design — Millwork

Based on our 3D scan coordinated digital modeling efforts that we shared across the project team, we developed a complete millwork shop drawing package covering every millwork assembly from fabrication to install.
